The ID-Cooling FX240 LCD ARGB is a modern 240mm all-in-one liquid CPU cooler designed for users who want a combination of strong cooling performance, a built-in LCD display, and ARGB aesthetics in a compact form factor. It is part of ID-Cooling’s FX LCD series, which focuses on blending real-time system monitoring with visually customizable cooling hardware, making it especially popular for gaming PCs and showcase builds.

At its core, the FX240 LCD uses a high-efficiency copper cold plate water block, which ensures rapid heat transfer from the CPU into the liquid loop. This allows the cooler to handle high thermal loads efficiently, keeping CPU temperatures stable during demanding tasks such as gaming, streaming, rendering, and heavy multitasking. The pump is integrated into the block and operates at speeds of around 2900 RPM ±10%, delivering consistent coolant circulation while maintaining relatively low operational noise.

The cooler is paired with a 240mm aluminum radiator measuring approximately 276 × 120 × 27 mm, providing a balanced surface area for heat dissipation while remaining compatible with most mid-tower PC cases. This radiator size makes it ideal for users who want strong performance without the larger footprint of a 360mm AIO.

Cooling is handled by two 120mm PWM ARGB fans, which operate in a wide speed range of roughly 300 to 2000 RPM. These fans are designed to balance airflow and static pressure, allowing them to efficiently push air through the radiator fins. At full speed, they deliver up to around 58 CFM airflow, ensuring stable thermal performance under sustained CPU loads. Despite strong performance, the cooler maintains relatively controlled acoustics, with noise levels reaching only about 27 dB(A) at maximum speed.

One of the defining features of the FX240 LCD is its 1.48-inch IPS LCD display (240×240 resolution) mounted on the pump head. This display can show real-time system information such as CPU temperature, usage, and performance stats, or be customized with images, animations, and other visual content depending on software support. The LCD adds a premium “smart cooler” feel, turning the CPU cooler into a functional monitoring hub as well as a cooling solution.

The pump itself uses a ceramic-bearing design, which improves durability and long-term stability while reducing friction and noise over time. This helps ensure consistent performance during long gaming sessions or continuous workloads.

For aesthetics, the FX240 LCD includes addressable RGB (ARGB) lighting on both the pump and fans. It connects via a standard 5V 3-pin ARGB header, allowing synchronization with motherboard RGB software such as ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and ASRock Polychrome Sync. This enables users to fully integrate the cooler into a unified RGB system across RAM, GPU, and case lighting.
